Pink Chevy Malibu Stolen In Georgia

Keep those peepers peeled!

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia has put out a request to the public to be on the lookout for a stolen pink 1978 Chevy Malibu. We want to amplify that request to a national audience just in case the car has been transported out of the area, which happens quite a lot, especially once word starts spreading.

Watch all the Viper generations drag race each other here.

As you might imagine, this classic Chevy sticks out like a sore thumb thanks largely to the color. Also, along the bottom of the windshield there’s a decal stretching from one side to the other that reads “COV-19.”

According to the sheriff’s office, the car was stolen on Georgia Highway 42 South near Montpelier Springs Road back on August 23 sometime between the hours of 6 pm and 1 am on August 24. Perhaps that will help with the search.

We’ve noticed that as the car theft trend has swept the nation, classic cars certainly haven’t been left alone by thieves. Instead, it seems they’re targeted more than ever as values have soared. This is why we recommend taking steps to secure your classic ride.

Whenever possible, park your classic in a private building with security measures like locking doors, an alarm system, and cameras with the best resolution possible.

On top of that, consider having security devices installed on your car, like an alarm, kill switch, and GPS tracking unit. We recommend dropping a second, cheaper GPS option in your vehicle, maybe something like an Apple AirTag as well so finding your vehicle if it is stolen proves much easier.

If you or anyone you know has information about the location of this pink 1978 Chevy Malibu or the people who took it, contact Investigator Yalonda Mercer at 478-994-7043 or The Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
